The Zopo ZP999 Standard version, powered
with MT6595 Pre-sale for this phone were first accepted on TinyDeal online
store for $399.99. Here’s our review of the Zopo ZP999 prototype and its
hardware.
The Zopo ZP999 standard version continues
the classic design sported by the Zopo ZP998 with many similarities from the
size to the way the buttons are set. But the battery has enlarged to 2,700mAh,
also they’re interchangeable. However, the SIM slots were changed. Zopo ZP998 has one big SIM slot and one small
one, while the Zopo ZP999 standard version has two micro card slots and has
support for 4G LTE networks. The two slots overlap each other. The Zopo ZP999
standard version is also NFC-supported, plus HotKnot, smart wake, OTG,
accelerometer and hall sensor integrated As a result, this is a phone aimed at
the high-end market, and so, it is no surprise that its price is much higher
than Zopo ZP998.
Powered on the device, probably thanks to
the LTPS technology, we found that the screen display is much nicer than the
same resolution on ZP998. Especially the black color presents very deep and
true, and you will not find any light leaks on the edge of the screen. Handing
on ZP999 feels comfortable, the thin bezel brings an excellent visual
enjoyment, the only pity is that a thin dark bezel will be keep in eyes when
the screen is on.
ZP999 packs with 5MP front camera and 14MP
back camera, when we started the test the day had been turned to dusk, so we
firstly took some night shots. It is notable that the shutter has a little
delayed, but the night shots didn’t disappoint us, with or without flash light,
it still keeps well.
The quality of the photos taken by ZP999 is
great. They are very clear whether they are taken indoors or outdoors. The
colors are also a bit more natural.
One of the ZP999’s most interesting
features is its MediaTek octa-core processor, using a mix of ARM Cortex-A17 and
low-power Cortex-A7 cores and paired with 3GB of RAM, will allow the phone to
easily outperform competing handsets.
We found there could be some truth to this
claim. During our hands-on, the Zopo ZP999 moved between windows and open
applications smoothly and stutter-free, and proved capable of opening multiple
content-rich websites in the native browser app hassle free.
This processor has received more than 42000
points in the newest Antutu benchmark test.
Unlike most MTK smartphones, ZP999’s audio
decoding chip seems much better, the sound quality with earphone is pure and
clear, but the speaker is not very loud when calling rings.
