THL T6 Pro: A Cozy 8-core Phone for the Autumn Market

Autumn is the ideal season to release new products: People are waiting for the Halloween and Christmas holidays. Being the star of fast developing consumer electronics market, cellphone companies will never be left behind. The leading companies like Samsung and Apple have announced their latest cellphone products, yet Google’s Nexus products are not even be leaked.

The 8-core Android cellphones have come to us months ago, even Qualcomm has broken its words to launched 8-core processors. Before Qualcomm’s 8-core processors are widely used, the only brands on this market are Samsung’s Exynos 54X0 series and MediaTek’s MTK6592. Exynos series have the bad reputation for battery-consumption and temperature control. And the lack of baseband patents make Samsung’s processors higher price for its extra cost. At the same time, MediaTek’s only 8-core processor MTK6592 has been sold over 6 months. Though not competitive with Qualcomm flagship 4-core processor like Snapdragon 800, MTK6592 is a quite decent processor: subordinate flagship performance, perfect battery-consumption and the low cost for manufacturers. Considering the upgrade version MTK6595 has been postponed several times, the MTK6592 is still trending in 2014 and 2015 spring.

Before the MTK6595 is mass produced, MTK6592 will slowly but steadily lower the price, in other words, cost down. From over $200 to the present price about $120, this process speeds up much. The model we’re talking today, THL T6 Pro is definitely an ambitious product. THL has brought us many classic cellphones: T100S, T200C, T11, and W11… Their recent models THL5000 and T6S did win reputation for cost/performance, battery-consumption, and build quality. While the THL5000 with over $260 and T6S with less than $90, there is a great gap between these two models. Considering the MTK6582 quad core phones have come with the low price, THL’s impossible to make a high-end quad core phone and mark it over $150. Thus THL chose to build the upgrade version of T6S, which is T6 Pro.

Sharing the same model with T6S, T6 Pro also has many same features with T6S. The specifications for T6 Pro is standard: MTK6592 octa core processors, 1GB RAM and 8GB ROM, 5” IPS HD screen, 2.0 MP and 8.0 MP dual cameras. Surely it aims at the customers who are eager to experience the octa core phones, yet worried about the unknown brand’s cheap products, or the unnecessary expensive ones.

The T6 Pro inherited simple but smart design. The same engineering plastics material on the back of T6 PRO feels quite different. The soft touch feels cozy, even in the cold weather days. The anti-slip surface is helpful when holding it in your hand. For this design, it won scores for anti-scratch part. The sound of speaker is impressive, so no need to worry you will miss the call. The T6 PRO used the three traditional button keys as well: menu, home and back. Fortunately the menu button has the right icon, not the multi-task icon on some other models. The power button and volume buttons are on the side of the phone which can easily access and the touch feels clear for each button. The 3.5mm microphone interface and micro USB interface are on the top. It feels better to hold the phone when charging it. At the bottom of the phone, the open slot of the back cover and the denoise microphone are here.

For the camera part, T6 PRO’s rear 8.0 MP camera lacks of unique features. But the main functions are supported: LED flashlight, auto-focus, panorama shot, face recognition, and continuous shot. Besides, it can toggle between 4:3 and 16:9 photo scale. The actual quality of the rear camera is decent for 8.0MP. The noise control is OK, but the glare prevention needs improvement.

The hardware performance of T6 PRO is within our expectation, both the Antutu benchmark and the 3D games / video playback experience is the normal MTK6592 level. 1GB RAM will be short for many background running apps. We agree that it can meet your daily demands as a starter phone. Though it’s an entry-level octa core phone, there is a long way between the T6 PRO and flagship ones. But running Facebook and Twitter will be more than sufficient. If this phone has the lower than $150 price, there would be chances for T6 PRO. And for this price, we can give it a 4.5 stars remark.

Axgio Continues Their Masterpiece on Neon N2Q

If the iPhone strikes your fancy but you can't quite justify the cost, perhaps the Axgio NeonN2Q will do the trick. After pre-announcing the device recently, Axgio is now finally telling interested customers when they can get it and how much it'll cost. The answers to those questions are September 25th and 'it depends.

Neon N2Q continues the style on N1, flat back cover is surrounded by the metal bezel, more compact and neat element vibe will instantly rush into your eyes when this handset on-hand. Axgio adopts OGS technology this time on the model, screen resolution is decreased, but better viewing angles provided. N2Q powered by the underclocking 8-Core MT6592M, main frequency is 1.4GHz, we may infer that this would be a nice solution to the problem that high power consumption on 8-Core phone. It still contains 1GB of RAM and 8GB of ROM, but upside is that OTG supported, for those who carries flash disk usually, OTG has been a necessary this days. Additionally, battery is also promoted to 2100mah, camera seems to remain the same. As the area of the speaker is larger, it provides much louder and clear voice calling

We must be impressed by the customized OS on Neon N1 for its abundant features and humane design, but this time Neon N2Q packs the stock Android 4.4, so in many aspects the interaction is much better, also the Neonado version will soon be available, whether it will support more system languages in the future upgrade? Let’s wait and see.

Axgio N2Q is coming

As a new Chinese phone manufacture, Axgio keeps on developing better mid-end phone, the former models W2 and N1 have  a good selling, so more and more customers begin to trust this brand.

This time, Axgio prepare to rage a storm again with its new phone - N2Q, which is the cheapest Octa-core phone, you can not find another Octa-core phone under $120 beside N2Q, so there is no doubt that N2Q is a cost-effective choice.

What's more, our TinyDeal have got some pictures and specs info about N2Q in advance, and now I will show you these details.

The follow pictures are N2Q, you can see that the appearance is more beautiful, and the fuselage is ultra thin, I think it shows a higher quality than W2 and N1.

The follow picture shows the specification about N2Q.

It's said that N2Q will release tomorrow, let's expect for it.

MIJUE M690+ - A clone version of iPhone 6

Mijue is a Chinese brand that famous for its former M680 phone, today they are plan to launch the next generation model M690+, aka M690 Plus..

Mijue M690+ seems to be the most cost-effective budget phone if we look to its specifications, powered by the MTK6592 8-core processor by Mediatek which is clocked at 1.7Ghz. In addition to that there is 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory of which you can extend it up to 64GB by SD Card., while most phones supports only 32GB. With those specs in combination with the 5” IPS HD 1280x720 pixels resolution screen the phone is reaching quite a good performance. What amazing is that price of M690+ is only about $130, so it may be a pretty nice budget Android smartphone within this price range.

The front of the phone is well-designed, and has a frontier modern edge like Apple products this year. On top we can see the status LED, front camera located on the center. Below the screen there are one gorgeous home key which is decorated as silver, as well as two menu keys which are only visible when using and lit up as ultramarine blue. The phone is doing what it is supposed to do very good and is fun to use for a clone device.

Latest Android 4.4 runs on the device, it features a 8MP back camera with dual flash, and the imitated features (like the smart gesture) of the original phone are nice, even though most will probably never use them but kindly helpful once emergent. Plus, the battery is surprisingly good. We believe that Mijue M690+ could bring us more surprise if on-hand later.

First, let's analyse some information about RK3288 processor. The A17 and A12, A17 is improved based on A12. So we can also call the A17 as A12r1, that’s more reasonable.

Appearance of Appreciation:
With 2 USB2.0 interfaces and one TF card slot by the side.

Power port, AV, HDMI2.0, USB and Micro USB interface, R89 equipped with many heat emission holes as well, it means the better cooling effect.

Internal Disassemble:

We can see the Mic, WiFi antenna is put on the top of shell

Finally, we should show the score of ANTUTU Benchmark. Apparently, it’s so easy to beat the SAMSUNG S5, LG and Xiaomi.

Another review for Axgio NEON N1

Announced earlier this Monday, Axgio’s new product Neon N1 packs the hardware of MTK6582 chipset, 5-inch 720P display, 1GB RAM, 8GB Nand Flash, and 8MP camera. Neonado 1.0 third-party system, which is the most well-known bright spot.

The good:  Neonado 1.0 system published with its sole aerial view, containing flash light’s switch, running list and memory’s cleaning switch. It really hit the sweet spot as Samsung sidebar and Iphone control center. Back cover bends gradually in a small angle, which performed as a perfect touch.
The bad:  N1 will suffer from a light fever as it’s been operated for some time. Android 4.2 and luxury themes consume power seriously.

The bottom line:  To compete with big brand cellphones in China, this second generation of Axgio opens up a new route. With a higher 8 GB’s ROM, N1 win by a narrow margin, compared to the very first Axgio W2. Surprisingly they are both with MTK6582 chipset and 1GB RAM. On a whole, it has various features as ordinary Chinese cellphones do. Nice and soft touching leaving a great impression to customers.

Design

When I take first sight of N1, its metal bezel is attractive, extremely thin and natty body shows the quality of the phone. N1 bears a striking resemblance to the design of the THL T6S -- especially the curved back case, which makes user easy to hold it, and the gap between back case and fuselage is narrow enough to prevent dust. I quite like this feel. It sits comfortably in my hand, though the edges of the fuselage are not smooth. The handset, headphone jack and charging pot of the phone set on the top, which have quite a premium feel, the speaker appears on the bottom. The power and volume rockers are on the different sides, easy to reach without any strenuous finger stretching. Such a standard size of N1 should fit into most pockets with ease.

Display

The 5 inch display has a 1280*720 pixels resolution. While that’s the same number of pixels you will find on the last model of Axgio. When you take N1 to compare with 1080p screens on Samsung S5 or Note 3, maybe you will feel a little meager, but you will find out differences alongside the screen with same resolution like DG2014. N1 can tackle small details on bright and dark spot of pictures. The colors of images remained true to show its original status, although N1's 294ppi display is just shy of the pixel density on other 1080P phone. It still beats most of 720P screen phones, so the display of N1 can get a good mark. Here is the picture about comparison between N1 and other 720P screen phones.

The mid one is N1
System

Now we begin to show you the highlight of N1, the customized OS Neonado, which specific optimize for MTK chipset, aims to improve using experience. Compare to other third party systems, Neonado breaks their common limitations. It is the only one customized OS supports multi languages, like English, Spanish, Italian, Russian, German, French and Chinese. Neonado bases on Android 4.2, but mainly inherits LEWA OS. Neonado offers a humane interaction. It has a whole suite of features you don't normally see on Android.

Instead of an app drawer, Neonado puts every app on the home screen just like IOS, but I much prefer to put my apps to the drawer, because when you install more and more apps on the phone, the home screen will become cluttered, users need to face difficulties of searching app they want to use. Besides, Neonado also has an aerial view screen, which gathers some small tools in the one interface, alarm clock, power manage, flash light and traffic monitor, just like Samsung side bar or iPhone control center. You can scan and clean up the memory via this screen.

The ability to customize how it looks is useful as well. You can easily load up the themes, or download a whole bunch of themes from the online themes store or Neonado forum, and if you're a big fan of MIUI, there's also a way to convert MIUI into LEWA theme file, which you can put it on the local theme folder, to enjoy the same using experience with XiaoMi.

Most of android phones supports 2SIM 2Standby, but it is inconvenient to use, on the contrary, Neonado makes efforts to this shortcoming, users can change 2SIM cards freely without extra setting. Meanwhile, N1 has completed GMS service framework, the same with Google Nexus series, guarantees original Google experience. Although the system has installed some apps like YouTube, Twitter and Whatsapp etc, users can uninstall them to provide more spaces for daily use. The most important things for customized OS are updates for system and ROM’s download, in this aspect, Neonado does a good job. It supports OTA updates, and several ROMs on Neonado forum offer to users to download. The last function I want to say is smart sensor, which you can answer the phone call without touching. On the whole, Neonado is a decent customized OS.

Performance

When you operate Neonado OS, you will feel smooth control sense, because the ROM of N1 is specific design for MTK chipset, better than other MTK smartphones with different operating systems, so Axgio N1 delivered decent performance comparable to other mid-notch mobiles. I started the AnTuTu benchmark and tested the phone, the final score is 16690, this result is reasonable with such average hardware level, 1.3GHz MTK6582 Quad-core processor, 1GB RAM and 8GB ROM.The follow screenshots show details about benchmark.

Camera
The Neon N1’s front-facing camera only has 2 mega pixels, and 8-megapixel shooter sits on the rear, above the LED flash. The camera offers several features, like smile face mode, continuous shoot mode and Panorama mode etc. What’s more, the camera integrates some functions of third-party apps, like real time filter and weather seal, which makes you preview the effect of picture at once.

In normal mode, the quality of picture reaches the standard level of cellphone photograph. Especially the image with adequate light can show its smoothness. In smile face mode, the camera will catch your smiling face automatically Panorama mode is where I try most times, as it's admittedly pretty cool. In Panorama mode, you can compress the whole 360°view into a strip image.

Conclusion

The biggest advantage of Neon N1 is price, if you search for the phone with same configurations. You will find that it’s even $30 lower than other, so it is really a smartphone worth trying to get your hands on. Maybe N1 could not rank as one of the best smartphone with customized OS on the market. However, it should be a cost-effective choice for people who want to experience a new operating system. Now, N1 is in stock on their exclusive selling store TinyDeal.
